Adhesion properties of tartaric sulfuric acid anodic films assessed by a fast and quantitative peel tape adhesion test

چکیده

The adhesion capabilities of sulfuric acid and tartaric-sulfuric-acid anodic oxide films on cladded AA2024-T3 aluminium substrates have been investigated in a quantitative manner. A relatively simple, versatile industrially applicable test methodology based DIN EN ISO 29862 has used. In addition, the effect anodising process parameters film morphology studied correlated with results. considered are chemistry acidic pickling pre-treatment step, addition tartaric to electrolyte, formation voltage, electrolyte temperature. suggested tape peel is able differentiate among pre-treatments conditions showing good correlation morphological features at ultimate surface. High strengths measured when topographies such as pore mouth widening dissolution-driven roughness take place. These morphologies typically found layers formed elevated temperatures. proposed method can be beneficial for fast assessment adhesion, which special interest industrial optimisation processes.

Adhesion properties of uric acid crystal surfaces.

Two key steps in kidney stone formation--crystal aggregation and attachment to renal tissues--depend on the surface adhesion properties of the crystalline components. Anhydrous uric acid (UA) is the most common organic crystalline phase found in human kidney stones. Using chemical force microscopy, the adhesion force between various functional groups and the largest (100) surface of UA single c...

Novel Adhesion Test for Environmentally Assisted Fracture in Thin Films

Thin films, used in various applications and devices, must strongly adhere to their substrates. Due to various processing and storage environments that devices can be exposed to, water may be introduced into the system. If residual stresses are present in a thin film, delamination propagation can be driven by water without the assistance of an externally applied mechanical force. It is extremel...

Interface strength, work of adhesion and plasticity in the peel test

A cohesive zone model is proposed and analyzed for steady-state peeling of a thin rate-independent, elastic-plastic film bonded to an elastic substrate. A traction-separation description of the interface is embedded within continuum characterizations of the film and substrate. The primary parameters characterizing the tractionseparation relation are the work of adhesion and the peak separation ...

Evaluation of Nylon and Polyester Peel Plies Using the Rapid Adhesion Test

Adequate surface preparation of composite parts for adhesive bonding by use of peel plies is highly desirable, yet it remains necessary to test each combination of composite resin system, peel ply, and adhesive for successful adhesion. Furthermore, failure in adhesion, as opposed to interlaminar or cohesive failure, is usually unacceptable for any application. The Rapid Adhesion Test (“RAT”) wa...
